Understanding ALICE in
Lebanon County

In Lebanon County, many households are considered ALICE– Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. These hardworking families earn above the Federal Poverty Level, but not enough to cover basic essentials like housing, food, healthcare, and childcare. Combined with households living below the poverty line, more than one-third of our community faces financial hardship every day.

ALICE workers educate our children, care for our health, and keep our community running, yet often struggle to make ends meet. These families are forced to make difficult choices, such as paying rent or affording quality childcare, which can have long-term effects on both their lives and our community as a whole.
